My Everyday Makeup

If anything changes almost weekly, it's my daily makeup routine. Some weeks I'll be in love with a Benefit Dandelion blusher, others I'll be back with my Sleek Sweet Cheeks palette. However, one thing I can say is I always go back to every product, rediscovering it time and time again.

Nonetheless, here is my current everyday makeup.

As you may know, I am currently in school, so on a weekday, I stick to just concealer, eye shadow, mascara, highlighter and filling in my eyebrows. However, any other time, I use every item in this box. I don't want to go into every item in detail, because I have endless amounts to say about each product. So, if you would like me to review a specific product, or have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to leave a comment.

Topshop All About Me Lipstick Review

Whilst looking around Topshop with a friend today, I saw a clear make-up bag that I thought would make a perfect pencil case. En-Route the till to pay, I spotted the make-up section, which obviously I had to look at. I love Topshop make-up as much as the next person, and every time I go in I look at the make-up, plan to buy it, then always change my mind. God knows why. However, today I was looking at the lipsticks in particular and just fell in love with this colour. I've been lusting after Infared for a while now, but when I saw All About Me, I just loved it. So, the make-up bag or the lipstick? Pffft, school came second to make-up, so the lipstick it was.

All About Me is a beautiful bright, almost neon, fuchsia pink with blue undertones. It has a matte finish, which I adore. It reminds me of MAC Girl About Town however more red where Girl About Town has more purple hues. The packaging of Topshop lipsticks feels very high-end, matte metal casing that clicks into place with a very satisfying snap, but still has the look of Topshop with the grey smudged lines around the base. The top and bottom of the casing is flat, which makes it ideal for storage.

The lipstick applies very nicely, it does pull on the lips a bit if you don't apply lip balm first, however once on it stays put and isn't drying. The quality does compare to that of MAC, and at £8, its almost half the price.

I'm excited to try more Topshop make-up, especially the lipsticks and highlighters.
Do you own any Topshop make-up? And if so, what do you think of it?

Essie Lapiz of Luxury Review

Essie Lapiz of Luxury is a beautiful light cornflower blue, which I absolutely adore, for I love pastel colours on my nails and almost always can only wear them. Using Essie's new formula, this nail polish applies opaque in 2 coats. I used this with the Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat however forgot to apply a top coat, so after a day or two the nail polish started to chip around the edges.

Now, this colour is perfect for almost any occasion. It has a very high-shine finish, and is a beautiful fresh shade. Each coat took about 1-2 minutes to dry, and I found no streaking as it's quite a thick formula.

Overall, I can't fault this nail polish. Though it did chip, I'm afraid that was through my error of not wearing a top coat. I would recommend this for mainly a fresh look in spring or cool and icy look in winter.

Sleek Blush by 3 Sweet Cheeks Review

Sleek are very well known and adored here in the UK, for they offer very highly pigmented products similar to that of NARS for only a fraction of the price. So, when their limited edition Candy Collection Blush by 3 palette came out, I had to have it.

As you can see, mine isn't in perfect condition. Each blush has a few dents/marks in from either dropping a brush in or catching it with my nails when opening. However, I still love this palette. It's rare I find 1 blush that I like, let alone 3, and 3 that I use all of, well that's miraculous! But I can safely say I use each of these blushes regularly.

Packaged in Sleek's trade matte black plastic palette with the shiny Sleek logo (and on this, as it's limited edition, a small silver 'candy collection, SWEET CHEEKS) the palette has a very handy large mirror on the inner lid, making it perfect for travel.

Candy Floss: A gorgeous corally-pink powder with slight shimmer, this blush looks beautiful on tanned skin. Applied to the apples of the cheeks, this blush leaves a beautiful coral glimmer on the cheeks with yellow/orange undertones.
Dolly Mix: A very cool subtle matte pink that's almost lilac, this shade is my favourite of the 3. I wore it to school for the last to weeks and had many compliments. When applied to my cheeks, it almost seems to cover up my natural redness and leave me with a shimmer of colour and a radiant glow.
Cupcake: The cream blush in the trio, a hot pink with blue undertones, it applies gorgeously and can be effortlessly layered to achieve the desired intensity. Due to its texture, it has a long wear time and doesn't fade off as easily as the two powders.

Overall this is one of my favourite Sleek products, for unlike many palettes, there isn't a dud product, and all are very highly pigmented and look gorgeous on all skin tones  I bought mine in Superdrug for £9.99, but they've stopped selling them now as they were only limited edition, however you can still but it here at Sleek.

''What a slut time is. She screws everybody.''

Some of you may recognise the title of this post as a quote from John Green's The Fault In Our Stars, one of my personal favourite books. That isn't the only reason it's taken place as the title of this post, however. It's because it's one of the most truthful and well-put quotes I've ever discovered in a book.

I can't apologise enough for not posting recently, even if no one reads my blog every post gives me a warmth of satisfaction that I rarely find in any task. I love having a blog, and hope one day one of my posts helps someone to decide on a product, to apply a product or even just interests them enough that that read to the end.

If any of you are in any way interested, here's what I've been up to in my absence:

I went to Belgium! For my first time being in the country, I loved it. We visited many historical sites associated with WWI in Ypres, such as the Menin Gate, Passchendaele and Langemark Cemetery. We then went shopping in some lovely little belgium chocolate shops, and to be in company of close friends the day was lovely.

My braces came off! As much as I love my smooth new teeth, I do miss having braces. I'm not sure why, I just liked the way they looked, and having something to balance my tip on top off. I now have a retainer I have to wear constantly (except when brushing and eating) for four months, however it's more ofter thana not covered in lipstick. Whoops!
Day's in the park have become a frequent must for us English folk with the hot weather and all. As hard as it is to believe, we don't only walk our corgie's and drink tea. Only in the afternoons, anyway. And look, we smile! Really we do!

Obviously, I have been up to a lot more, but these are the parts I felt to share. I will hopefully be posting a lot more from now on, and please feel free to leave comments.

The Buffing Brush vs The Flat Foundation Brush

Before I'd discovered the uses of foundation, the reason for its existence or even what it was called, I'd  pump half the bottle into my hand and slather it all over my face, delighted with my patchy, bright orange complexion *shivers*.

Once I'd been enlightened, however, and discovered there was more to make-up than my mother's make-up bag, I was fascinated. Especially by make-up brushes. How they can be the difference between orange and beige, streaky and flawless. However, only if you know how to use them.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush: Definitely my favourite of the two brushes, this buffing brush from the Real Techniques Core Collection really does what it says on the tin. It buffs foundation into the skin flawlessly.

When I use this brush, I've finished my foundation in a few minutes, with my whole face covered and no patches missed. It ensures that your face is evenly covered, and whether you use a high street or high end foundation, using this brush will leave your face looking airbrushed and your complexion to die for. The brush is firm, but also uber soft, which makes for perfect application. This is my staple foundation brush at the moment, and I honestly can say I don't know how I lived without it.

Washing this brush is almost a pleasure, it takes almost no time at all, and the brush always comes up spotless. Overall, I love this brush and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flawless, airbrushed-looking face.

Ecotools Flat Foundation Brush: A flat foundation brush was the first foundation brush I ever owned, an extremely cheap one from a 'bundle monster' brush set, which, thinking back, wasn't too awful quality for the price of the set, about £10 for a 15 piece set (I think...) I thought it was great, applying my tinted moisturiser with a brush. I felt so 'grown up'! However, now when I'm using them, I feel as though I'm painting my face, not pleasant.

I find this Ecotools Flat Foundation Brush leaves my foundation streaky, and it's harder to get an even coverage. I really dislike this brush, which is a shame because the company make otherwise lovely brushes, but I suppose I was never going to like a flat foundation brush, whatever the make.

Washing this brush is such a task and I detest it. The foundation gets right down into the roots of the brush, and no matter how much you pull the hairs apart. Overall, this brush reminds me too much of painting my face and the coverage is not what I expected from an Ecotools brush.

Mark Jacobs Lola - Summer Floral Scent Review

Everyone has a perfume or 7 that they adore, and is/are their summer staple scent. Well, here's my all time favourite summer scent ever, Mark Jacobs Lola.

Not only is the bottle one of the most elegant, exciting and beautiful bottle's I've ever set eyes upon, the perfume has the most gorgeous, flirtatious floral scent. The base notes of this scent are vanilla & creamy musk. The top notes are pear, grapefruit, rose and fuchsia. All of these combine into a glorious fruity, floral, fresh scent that excites me at every little smell of it.

I can put this perfume on at 7 in the morning and it will still be going strong at 7 in the evening. I've had countless compliments when wearing this perfume, in fact they're almost daily. If anyone asked me to sum up summer in a word, it will always be 'Lola'.

The lid on this bottle is so lovely and girly. The bouquet that springs from the purple glass bottle just screams eccentric and extravagant. It's made of scentless rubber, so there's no chance of any breakages here. I believe that this bottle enhances the overall experience of the perfume, once you've set eyes upon it, you just want to run and spray the perfume on every inch of your well beautified body - or is that just me?

This perfume is a moderate price at £63 for a 100ml bottle (when bought from Debenhams.) I would extremely recommend this product, for I know of no other perfume (possibly excluding Coco Chanel) that makes me feel as glamorous or joyful as when I'm wearing Lola.
